Duke University Integrated Toxicology and Environmental Health Program

Graduate Program in Toxicology

Training in toxicology at Duke for predoctoral students emphasizes an integrated approach to teaching and research. The interdepartmental Integrated Toxicology and Environmental Health Program brings together Photostudents and faculty members who are trained in various specific disciplines to interact in the examination of toxicological problems. Faculty members are aligned with one or more of the following subdisciplines of toxicology: Neurotoxicology and Neurological Disease; Epigenetics, Genetic Toxicology, and Cancer; Developmental Toxicology and Children's Health; Environmental Exposure and Toxicology; and Pulmonary Toxicology and Disease. The ITP is a highly interdisciplinary program, with faculty and students representing the Duke University Medical Center (DUMC), Nicholas School of Environment and Earth Sciences (NSEES) and Trinity College of Arts and Sciences. The primary mission of this program is to give students a sound theoretical base and laboratory training for a career in environmental toxicology and sound laboratory training in experimental toxicology.
